Schedule of Services

The following services are held each week at the New York City Center. All are welcome to attend. If you are new to meditation or just beginning, we suggest you attend the Thursday evening or Sunday morning services which are a good introduction to meditation and the teachings of Paramahansa Yogananda.

Announcements

May 28: On Sunday, May 28 all Young-at-Heart devotees, ages 65 and over, are invited to our next Young-at-Heart Activity, which will include fun, fellowship, and lunch after the service on the third floor.

June 3: The Central Jersey Meditation Group is holding its annual potluck picnic on Saturday, June 3 from 10:00 am-5:00 pm at the Knob Hill Picnic Grove Pavilion in Colonial Park, Somerset, NJ. The day will include activities in nature, games, a kirtan, and meditation. Please bring a vegetarian dish to share. For more information, please contact CJMG at 908-866-1920.  

June 4: On Sunday, June 4 there will be a kirtan led by our Center members in the main chapel from 12:30-1:30 pm. Come and experience the joy of chanting together in devotion to God.

June 15: The Thursday evening Inspirational Service will be monastic-led. 

June 16: The Friday 3-Hr. Meditation will be led by visiting monastics.

June 17: India Night will be held on Saturday, June 17 from 5-8 pm featuring the musical performance, “Lord Shiva- the King of Yogis," including ancient Sanskrit hymns and Hindi devotional songs and a short play entitled, "The Drunken Man Who Was Preferred by God," as told by Paramahansa Yogananda, all presented by devotees of NYCC. Also included in this special evening is a showing of the travel documentary, “Journey of a Lifetime," with Jeremy Piven, and a delicious Indian meal, lovingly prepared by members of our Center.  Please purchase your tickets early, as this has been a sold-out event in the past. Tickets may be purchased in the lobby after services.

June 18: The Sunday Meditation and Inspirational Service will be monastic-led.

June 25: A Friendship Tea will be held on the third floor after the Sunday service. Tea and light refreshments will be served.

June 25: A Young Adult Kirtan will take place in the 2nd floor chapel from 12:30-2:00 pm (grab a bite at the friendship tea first).

Opportunities to Serve at the Center
